PR1: “FLOURISHING”: Online Learning Platform
The first result of FLOURISH project is an online learning platform with an interactive digital infrastructure that will have a double function:
a) Train adult educators on intergenerational learning
b) Support senior adults and young adults in the creation of their cultural heritage products by providing them with the relevant tools.
Each partner will be responsible in developing learning units with interactive content like exercises, mini tests, presentations. The adult educators, the senior and young people will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and competences linked to intergenerational learning and the use of digital tools to promote the cultural heritage.
The innovative element of this platform is its holistic approach to education that promotes not only the development of elderly adults’ digital knowledge and skills but supports a collaborative synergistic learning experience within intergenerational learning. Elderly adults will become familiar with the tools and formats of online education through a “learning by doing” framework and will be aided by their youth partners in a cooperative relationship of knowledge exchange.
PR2: Intergenerational Cultural Affinity Spaces
Workshop programme which will be online and offline. It will bring together disadvantaged elderly adults (particularly those in care homes) and youth (aged 18-30), a total of 16 participants split equally between target groups between target groups, to collaborate on a specific cultural heritage activity.
The workshop will be based on the results of PR1 modules, such as Intergenerational communication skills, Intergenerational interpersonal skills, Culture as a bridge to communication, Digital tools for intergenerational socialisation and communication, Practical guide to completing intergenerational activity during the workshop, How to create a video for cultural communication with a Practical Guide, about this last topic.
PR3: Living virtual experiences (LIVE) exhibition
The virtual exhibition space of the present (LIVE) is an empowering, next generation inclusive community exhibition space which will disseminate the products/creative outputs produced by participants of PR2.
This is an innovative way to address responsible geographies of cultural identity and the controversial processes of social (re)memory and forgetting. The virtual exhibition space of the present (LIVE), could act as a space for participants to co-author lived societal and place-based memories, drawing on the concept of Second Life and simulations of sort.
The target groups is not limited to the target groups of disadvantaged elderly adults and youth. Rather, for the success of this project result and to increase the exposure of the exhibits and exhibition, this project result will be promoted and disseminated among targeted and general audiences that the project team will have already approached.
